What Happens When Two (Organizational) Cultures Meet?

CHINESE-GERMAN COLLABORATION IN A JOINT VENTURE CONTEXT

During the last four months, I worked as a consultant in an integration process intended to shape the collaboration between a German and a Chinese joint venture partner. Both sides had already been business partners for several years. Due to new strategic market requirements, both wanted to enter a new era of intensified collaboration. In a moderation tandem together with my client, the manager of the integration project, we supported the different key functions in working out the critical differences between the two (organizational) cultures. As a next step, we led the key functions through the process of defining their specific actions fields and their next activities. Moderating the encounter between two or even more cultures is one of my greatest passions!
